Water Shutoff
WHAT TO DO IN A WATER EMERGENCY
-
Shut off the water to your unit by turning the unit shutoff valve (this is sufficient in most cases).
-
If that doesn't stop the flow, knock on the door of the unit that houses the main shutoff valve and have them cut the water to the building.
-
If they are not home, call the City of Aurora at 630.256.3600 and explain the situation. They will come and cut the water at the street.
-
Contact FirstService Residential to inform them of the situation and for assistance in next steps.

Individual Unit Water Shutoff Valve
Each unit in Golf Villas has its own individual water shutoff valve. It's located in a different place in each unit, so it is essential that every resident knows where their valve is located and how to operate it in case of a plumbing emergency or maintenance need.

Main Building Shutoff Valve
Each building has a main shutoff valve that cuts water to the entire building. This valve is located inside one of the units. All residents should know which unit houses the main shutoff valve.

If the owner of that unit is unavailable and water to the building must be shut off immediately, please contact the City of Aurora Water Department at 630.256.3600 for assistance. They can cut the water at the street.

Water Meter
Each building has a water meter. It is often located in the same unit as the building’s main shutoff valve—but not always. Water meters are read remotely by the City of Aurora.

Outdoor Spigot Shutoff Valve
Each outdoor spigot is connected to an indoor shutoff valve. To prevent frozen or burst pipes during cold weather, residents should turn it off and drain the spigot before winter.
If you can't find yours, there is a possibility that it is behind the drywall making it all the more important to detach your outside hose, drain the remaining water in spigot, and cover it from the outside to prevent freezing. Burst pipes often are not discovered until they leak in the spring and are costly to repair.
